5th July 2017
"Offer service and receive love. This is the recipe for experiencing Divinity. But today service is not offered wholeheartedly. Few render service with love and hence few receive God's grace. Even their love is self-centred and is not all-embracing. Our love should not be confined to our kith and kin. It must extend beyond the family to society as a whole, then to the nation at large, and finally it must embrace the whole world". SSS 20.26: November 19, 1987
Dear Brothers and Sisters
Our Dearest Lord has reminded us repeatedly of the very purpose of human life; to Love All and Serve All. Recent events in the UK and around the world are reminders that it is Love that is the need of the hour. Bhagawan has taught us that Love in action, is the very definition of service and that it is our bounden duty to serve the society from which we have come, and from which we continue to gain benefit.
It is in this spirit that the National Service Team is delighted to announce the 9th July 2017 "Global Service Day" Programme.
On this day, we invite every devotee, of every wing and of all ages, to unite and take up service activities in our local communities and to share the Love and the Joy of Service. Let us mobilise our teams of service volunteers and on this auspicious day expand our work and our hearts to reach our brothers and sisters in need. As we do, we remind ourselves that we are part of a Global Sai family, bound by His Love. We offer all service to our Beloved Lord, who spent every moment of His Life selflessly serving humanity.
To celebrate Global Service Day, there will be programmes arranged by group, centre and regional teams all across the UK. We look forward to your wholehearted participation as part of this year's national day of Service. Our organisation website will contain information of service projects and activities taking place across the country. We very much look forward to hearing from you about the work that you have undertaken and invite you to submit photos, short videos and a brief write up to share your inspiring work. Please share your ideas for service programmes to celebrate this special day, with your centre service coordinators.
We pray for Bhagawan's blessings that this year's Global Service Day will be celebrated with ever increasing unity and love.
