Las únicas cosas que son permanentes son la verdad, la conducta recta y una buena reputación. Todos quieren felicidad en este mundo. De animal a hombre, nadie desea sufrir ni experimentar dolor. Las escrituras dicen que el hombre siempre está sediento de bienaventuranza. El hombre está siempre sediento de bienaventuranza. Sin embargo, sin saber dónde conseguirlo, sigue buscándola por todas partes, como el ciervo almizclero que tiene olor en su propio ombligo, pero no sabe de dónde emana la fragancia; busca por todo el bosque, se agota porque no puede encontrar la fuente. Pero, cuando inclina la cabeza hacia el vientre, descubre que la fuente de la fragancia estaba dentro de sí mismo y no fuera. Buscar la felicidad en el mundo exterior solo conduce a la decepción. Con un poco de riqueza, un nombre, algunas amistades y algunas comodidades y conveniencias, uno puede experimentar el placer durante algún tiempo, pero, como las estaciones que pasan, este placer pasará. Hace cincuenta años, una rupia era una buena cantidad de dinero. Podrías ir a un hotel al borde de la carretera y comprar el almuerzo por 50 paise y aún te sobra lo suficiente para la cena. ¡Hoy, la misma comida te costará 50 rupias! Ya no hay valor en una sola rupia. El dinero puede tener algún valor hoy, pero mañana, el valor se desvanece. Entonces, ¿puedes confiar en el dinero? En una película, muchas escenas van y vienen. Puede que haya una guerra en la pantalla, con mucho derramamiento de sangre, pero no hay sangre en la pantalla. Todo es solo un drama: māyānātaka (el drama de la ilusión divina). Debido a que la pantalla es permanente y estable, puede ver la película. Si la pantalla también estuviera en movimiento, la película sería demasiado confusa para entenderla. Si la carretera temblara mientras camina, ¿podría caminar? Cuando nacen, los llaman "niños". Más tarde, los llaman "jóvenes". Después de algunos años, la gente se refiere a ustedes como "hombres". Eventualmente, dicen que son "ancianos". Constantemente se producen cambios en sus cuerpos. Entonces, ¿cuál es la verdad? ¿Son niños, hombres o ancianos? Todos estos son estados temporales; no hay nada permanente en esta vida pasajera. El mundo temporal puede dar placeres que son temporales. Entonces, basen sus vidas en lo que es permanente y estable, entonces sus vidas también se volverán estables; sólo entonces podrán encontrar la felicidad permanente. Realicen su divinidad, luchen por la bienaventuranza que es la consecuencia de conocer la verdad última de la existencia de uno como Divino; que la felicidad sola puede ser permanente. Extracto Del Discurso Divino

El pasado es pasado, El futuro es incierto El presente no es un presente ordinario, es omnipresente Su deber principal es hacer un uso adecuado del tiempo. Para este propósito, no es necesario que espere el comienzo de un nuevo año o un momento propicio. Cada momento es una manifestación del tiempo. De segundos a minutos, de minutos a horas, de horas a días y meses, y de meses a un año, esta es la progresión interminable del tiempo. Un segundo es la base de un año. Por lo tanto, cada segundo debe estar lleno de acciones con propósito. ¿Cuál es el significado de una vida en la que, desde que se despierta por la mañana hasta que se duerme por la noche, uno solo se preocupa por llenar el estómago y no piensa en Dios? ¿Cuál es el resultado de todas estas actividades agitadas? ¿Ha dado un solo momento de verdadera alegría? Vivir puede tener un propósito solo a través de la constante contemplación de Dios. La gente habla de servicio. ¿A quiénes están sirviendo? Cuando prestan servicio, realmente se estás sirviendo a ustedes mismos. Tienen que realizar todas las acciones con un espíritu de dedicación, solo para complacer a la Divinidad. Santifiquen todos los días comprometiéndonos en actividades puras, desinteresadas y ennoblecedoras. En la medida de lo posible, eviten causar daño o dolor a los demás. Lo que siembran, cosecharán. Siempre que se sientan perturbados por sentimientos de ira, envidia, orgullo, celos y similares, estén alerta y recurran a la contemplación del Señor. El Soñador

Vivía un hombre que pasaba la mayor parte de su tiempo soñando despierto sobre hacerse rico en el futuro. En lugar de trabajar, pasaba todo el tiempo deseando lo mejor para sí mismo. Una hermosa mañana, un individuo le dio un tarro de leche como limosna. Estaba muy contento, se fue a casa, hirvió la leche, bebió un poco y volvió a poner la leche restante en la olla. Añadió pequeñas cuajadas en la olla, para cuajar la leche. Luego se acostó a dormir. Pronto empezó a soñar despierto: "Una vez que la leche cuajara y se convirtiera en cuajada, batiré la cuajada y haré mantequilla con ella. Calentaré la mantequilla y haré ghee con ella. Luego iré a ese mercado y venderé ese ghee y ganaré algo de dinero. Con ese dinero compraré una gallina. La gallina pondrá muchos huevos, que eclosionarán y habrá muchas gallinas. Estos pollos, a su vez, pondrán cientos de huevos y pronto tendré una granja avícola propia". Siguió soñando. "Venderé todas las gallinas de mis aves de corral, compraré algunas vacas y abriré una lechería. Toda la gente del pueblo vendrá a comprarme leche. Seré muy rico y pronto compraré joyas. El rey me comprará todas las joyas. Seré tan rico que podré casarme con una chica excepcionalmente hermosa de una familia rica. Pronto tendré un hijo guapo. Si termina complaciéndose en alguna travesura, me enojaré y para darle una lección, lo golpearé con un gran palo". En el estado de sueño, involuntariamente tomó el palo, que estaba al lado de su cama, y pensando que estaba golpeando a su hijo, levantó el palo y golpeó la olla. La olla de leche se hizo añicos en un millón de pedazos y se despertó de su sueño diurno, solo para ver que la leche se partía por completo y no tuvo otra opción que llorar por la leche derramada y sus sueños destrozados.

Esquina De Ficción

En el video anterior, está este personaje, un panda llamado Po. Está bastante molesto con las situaciones y circunstancias que le depara la vida. Se ha fijado una meta para sí mismo, pero siente que no es lo suficientemente competente, basándose en las conversaciones y el juicio de los que lo rodean. Continúa fracasando, y todos sus esfuerzos de automotivación son en vano porque presta sus oídos a las palabras desmoralizadoras de los demás, que lo juzgan por su estructura física y no por su potencia interior. A menudo, nos encontramos en una situación similar a Po, el Panda. Prestamos oídos a los desalentadores juicios negativos de los que nos rodean y no reconocemos el potencial que se encuentra en lo más profundo de nosotros. En resumen, somos víctimas de los trucos de este mundo. Tendemos a perder la confianza en nosotros mismos y comenzamos a dudar de nuestras habilidades, cuestionando nuestro destino y los misteriosos caminos de Dios. Cuando estamos al límite de nuestro ingenio, después de haber agotado todos nuestros esfuerzos, entonces es una indicación de que ha llegado el momento adecuado proverbial. Porque es el momento de que la entrada de un maestro / gurú en nuestras vidas ilumine el camino a seguir. Cuando Po se quedó confundido, desconsolado, perplejo y sin saber el camino a seguir, el Maestro Oogway (tortuga) entra en escena y lo guía. Muestra el camino y despeja todas sus dudas de la forma más sencilla posible. Él dice que, o seguimos cavilando sobre nuestro pasado o el futuro inminente o seguimos preocupándonos por los errores cometidos o especulamos sobre las acciones a realizar en el futuro. Lo que realmente echamos de menos en este trato es "vivir en este momento presente". El maestro Oogway captura bellamente la esencia de toda la sabiduría suprema y la resume en las siguientes frases: El ayer es una historia El mañana es un misterio, Pero hoy es un regalo, por eso se llama ¡Presente! Nuestro más querido Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai reitera la misma sabiduría, para que podamos vivir el presente, que enderezará nuestro pasado y el futuro, automáticamente, los jñānīs- los sabios viven en el momento presente sin pensar en el pasado ni en el futuro. Eso les permite contribuir de manera completa y eficiente a la sociedad del bienestar. Ni el pasado ni el futuro están en nuestras manos. ¡Qué es, es nuestro presente! Por lo tanto, Sri Sathya Sai Baba siempre decía: "El presente es omnipresente". Queridos hermanos y hermanas, sigamos el camino prístino mostrado por nuestro Maestro y alcancemos nuestro destino, descubriendo nuestro verdadero Yo interior y ayudando a muchos más a caminar en este camino.

Answer:                  अस्थिरं जीवनम् लोके अस्थिरं यौवनं धनम् | अस्थिरं दारा पुत्रादी सत्यम कीर्ति द्वयम् स्थिरं धर्मम् कीर्ति द्वयम् स्थिरं || asthiram jeevanam loke, asthiram yauvanam dhanam asthiram dara putradi, satyam kīrti dvayam sthiram dharmam kīrti dvayam sthiram Meaning: In this world, life is transient; youth and wealth are transient; family and children are all transient. The only things that are permanent are truth, righteous conduct and a good reputation. Everyone wants happiness in this world. From an animal to man —no one wishes to suffer or experience sorrow. The scriptures say that man is ever thirsty for bliss. Man is ever-thirsty for bliss. However, not knowing where to attain it, he keeps looking for it everywhere, like the musk deer that has scent in its own navel, but does not know where the fragrance is emanating from; searches all around the forest, gets exhausted as it is unable to find the source. But, when it bends its head towards its belly, it discovers that the source of the fragrance was right within itself, and not outside. Searching for happiness in the outside world leads only to disappointment. With a little wealth, a name, a few friendships and some comforts and conveniences, one may be able to experience pleasure for some time — but, like the passing seasons, this pleasure will pass. Fifty years ago, one rupee was a good amount of money. You could go to a wayside hotel and buy lunch for 50 paise and still have enough left over for dinner. Today, the same meal will cost you 50 rupees! There is no value in just one rupee anymore. Money may have some value today, but tomorrow, the value vanishes. So, can you put your faith in money? In a movie, many scenes come and go. There may be a war taking place on the screen, with a lot of bloodshed—but there is no blood on the screen. It is all just a drama — māyā nātaka (the drama of divine illusion). Because the screen is permanent and steady, you are able to see the film. If the screen was also in motion, the film would be too confusing to understand. If the road was shaking whilst you were walking, would you be able to walk at all?  When you are born, you are called a 'child'. Later, you are referred to as a 'youth'. After some years, people refer to you as a 'man'. Eventually, they say you are an 'old man'. Changes are constantly taking place in your body. Then what is the truth? Are you a boy, a man or an old man? All these are temporary states; there is nothing permanent in this transient life. Temporary world can give pleasures that are temporary. So, base your life on that which is permanent and steady, then your life will also become steady; only then will you be able to find permanent happiness. ​Realise your divinity, strive for the bliss that is the consequence of knowing the ultimate truth of one's existence as Divine; that happiness alone can be permanent. INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE FOR THE WEEK "Live always in the present; there is no past or future, except in the mind." – Sri Ramana Maharshi Excerpt From Divine Discourse Past is past, Future is uncertain, Present is not an ordinary present, it is omnipresent. Your primary duty is to make right use of time. For this purpose, there is no need for you to wait for the beginning of a new year or an auspicious time. Every moment is a manifestation of time. From seconds to minutes, from minutes to hours, from hours to days and months, and from months to a year – this is the endless progression of time. A second is the basis for a year. Hence every second should be filled with purposeful action. What is the meaning of a life in which - from waking in the morning to sleeping at night, one is concerned only about filling their bellies and have no thought of God? What is the result of all these hectic activities? Has it given a single moment of real joy?  Living can become purposeful only through constant contemplation of God. People talk about service. Whom are you serving? When you render service, you are really serving yourself. You have to perform all actions in a spirit of dedication, only to please the Divine. Sanctify everyday by engaging yourselves in pure, selfless and ennobling activities. As far as possible, avoid causing harm or pain to others. As you sow, so shall you reap. Whenever you feel disturbed by feelings of anger, envy, pride, jealousy and the like, be alert and resort to the contemplation of the Lord. An excerpt from Divine discourse delivered by Sri Sathya Sai Baba on a new year day. The Day-Dreamer There lived a man who spent most of his time day-dreaming about becoming rich in the future. Instead of working he spent all his time wishing well for himself. One fine morning, some individual gave him a pot of milk as alms. He was extremely delighted, went home, boiled the milk, drank some of it and put the remaining milk back in the pot. He added little curds in the pot, to curdle the milk. He then lay down to sleep. Soon he started day-dreaming – "Once the milk sets and becomes curd, I would churn the curd and make butter from it. I would heat the butter and make ghee out of it. I will then go to that market and sell that ghee, and make some money. With that money i will buy a hen. The hen will lay many eggs, which will hatch and there will be many chickens. These chicken will in turn lay hundreds of eggs and I will soon have a poultry farm of my own." He kept dreaming. "I will sell all the hens of my poultry and buy some cows, and open a milk dairy. All the people from the town will come to buy milk from me. I will be very rich and soon I shall buy jewels. The king will buy all the jewels from me. I will be so rich that, I will be able to marry an exceptionally beautiful girl from a rich family. Soon, I will have a handsome son. If he ends up indulging himself in any mischief, I will get angry and to teach him a lesson, I will hit him with a big stick." In the dreaming state, he involuntarily picked up the stick, which was kept next to his bed and thinking that he was beating his son, raised the stick and hit the pot. The pot of milk shattered into million pieces and he awoke from his day dream, only to see the milk split all over and he had no option, but to cry over the spilt milk and his shattered dreams. FICTION CORNER In the above video, there is this character, a panda named Po. He is quite upset with the situations and circumstances which life throws at him. He has set a goal for himself to achieve but feels he is not competent enough, based on the talks and judgment of others around him. He continues to fail, and all his efforts of self-motivation go in vain because he lends his ears to the demoralising words of others, who judge him by his physical frame and not the inner potent. Often times, we find ourselves in a similar situation like Po - the Panda. We lend ears to the discouraging negative judgments that others around us and fail to recognise the potential lying deep within us. In short, we fall prey to the tricks of this world. We tend to lose our self-confidence and start doubting our abilities, questioning our fate and the mysterious ways of God. When we are at our wits end, having exhausted all our efforts, then it is an indication that the proverbial right time has arrived. For, it is the time for a master / guru's entry into our lives to shine a light for the way forward. When Po was left confused, heartbroken, perplexed, and not knowing the way forward, Master Oogway (turtle) enters the scene and guides him. He shows the path and clears all his doubts in the simplest way possible. He says that - we either keep brooding over our past or the impending future. We keep worrying about the mistakes committed or speculate over the actions to be performed in the future. What we really miss in this bargain is 'to live in this present moment'. Master Oogway beautifully captures the essence of all the ultimate wisdom, and encapsulate it in the following phrases: Yesterday is a history, Tomorrow is a mystery, But today is a gift, that is why it is called Present! Our dearest Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai is reiterating the same wisdom, so that we can live the present, which will set right our past and the future, automatically. jñānīs - the wise ones live in the present moment without thinking about the past or the future. That enables them to contribute completely and efficiently to the welfare society. Neither past or future is in our hands. What is, is the present! Therefore, Sri Sathya Sai Baba always said, "Present is Omnipresent." Dear brothers and sisters, let us follow the pristine path shown by our Master and reach our destination, discovering our true Selves within and help many more treading on this path.
